Deanna Moser, Library Assistant II, has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s Employee of the Month for July 2018. This award is to recognize an employee that inspires us with their effort and attitude.
What was said about Deanna:
“Deanna is an amazing employee who routinely takes on duties above and beyond her position.
Deanna just recently marked her ninth anniversary with Yuma County Library District. Eight of those were in Youth Services, but last year she became Wellton’s LAII. Even while she was learning her new job, she continued doing her old one. And for Summer Reading this year, she has stepped in to informally add the role of Teen/Spanish associate, capably handling the crafts, challenges and other programming that had been scheduled.
Deanna is key in training new library workers and filling in for every position as needed, including the library supervisor. She keeps everyone on their toes, training on software changes and reminding us of proper procedures. She volunteers for extra assignments, and never says “Nope, too busy,” when asked to fill in, whether it’s for desk hours or programs.
She is extremely creative and has an eye for decorating and keeps the library looking inviting whether it’s to build excitement for Summer Reading or to add a touch of beauty and homey-ness during holidays. She helps make it a welcoming place for everyone.
Deanna is well-liked, well-known and well-respected in the community and at the library. Although she’s left behind her Storytime hat, she still has kiddos coming in to see “teacher.” She is patient and knowledgeable about library services, and provides excellent customer service to patrons, young and old.
While she might not be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, Deanna’s ever-present smile, quick laugh and extensive knowledge contribute significantly to the magic happening within library walls.”
Deanna received a mounted certificate, a name plate in the book of her choice, an Employee of the Month pin, and her photo will be hung at the Wellton Library during the month of July. Congratulations Deanna!
