Cody Beecher, Library Assistant I-Teen Services, has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s Employee of the Month for July 2017. This award is to recognize an employee that inspires us with their effort and attitude.
What was said about Cody:
“Cody has really risen to the big challenge of getting some kind of steady teen program going at Heritage. It’s no small task – our program stats tend to be low, even during summer reading. But Cody has really dug in and gone the extra mile. He has been doing weekly outreaches to high school clubs, has brought in special guests such as local Live Action Role Players and has offered programs for the pop-culture phenomenon of the moment like Pokémon. He has even succeeded in building up a set of regulars thanks to his weekly gaming programs that offer off-the wall and unusual games that rest of the staff had never even heard of. He also collaborates with other staffers to create programs, such as the Cosplay Meetup, which has been a big hit for us. Not only this but he does this with an always-positive attitude and is always willing to help any other staff member out with anything at all that may be needed whether it be pitching in with shelving when someone is out or covering a program.”
Cody received a mounted certificate, a name plate in the book of his choice, an Employee of the Month pin, and his photo will be hung at the Heritage Library during the month of July. Congratulations Cody!
