Leslie Castro, Library Assistant 1 – Children’s (Heritage Library), has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s Employee of the Month for November 2016. This award is to recognize an employee that inspires us with their effort and attitude.
“Leslie is FINALLY off of her 6 months’ probation so I can FINALLY nominate her! From day 1 Leslie hit the ground running and we have been SO impressed with everything she does. Leslie came in to YCLD at the hardest possible time – just before SRP started, with no time to plan anything before it was upon us, and she faced the challenge like a champ. Leslie has never been content with “good enough” and is always looking for “what else.” She has arguably the most difficult job in our branch and she handles it magnificently. Since she started here 6 short months ago she has completely re-arranged and weeded the children’s section, re-decorated, and planned an impressive amount of programs. She NEVER stops working. In fact some days we have to MAKE her go home. Haha! She does it all with a positive attitude and a smile. Plus, she is always willing to learn, and ask questions, as well as help out any time anyone else needs help, even though she is currently planning several major programs. She’s an amazing employee and she really deserves to be recognized.”
Leslie received a mounted certificate, a name plate in the book of her choice, an Employee of the Month pin, and her photo will be hung at the Heritage Branch Library during the month of November. Congratulations Leslie!
