Libraries on the go

Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority, which oversees the Yuma County Area Transit (YCAT) bus system, and the Yuma County Library District joined forces in July 2013 to launch Libraries on the Go!, an on-board literacy program.

All 27 YCAT buses stock used materials from the Yuma County Library District and Friends of Yuma County Libraries, Inc.  Riders can read the books or magazines on the bus, take the book or magazine home and return it later to any bus, or donate an old book or magazine for others to read while commuting.

Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority (YCIPTA), the Friends of the Yuma County Library, and Yuma County Library District accept donations for books and magazines year-round. For more information, please contact YCIPTA at (928) 539-7076, ext 106 or Friends of Yuma County Libraries, Inc. at (928) 373-6519.
