On Tuesday, May 26th, the Yuma Main Library, in collaboration with Money Management International, is hosting two FREE personal finance workshops in Spanish. Learn how to take control of your financial situation and create financial security!

Wise financial management requires a series of daily choices.  With a spending plan, your choices are prioritized to help you stay on track and follow the plan. Learn how to create a budget; monitor your progress; manage the flow of income and expenses; comparison shop; and protect your assets.

Accurate information in your credit report is the key to obtaining the best credit terms and rates. Learn how to obtain, read, understand, and dispute inaccurate information on your credit report. Discover how your credit score can affect more than your ability to establish or re-establish credit.

Yarn Over Yuma @ Foothills Library

“Yarn over Yuma” meets every Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Foothills Library. Meet fellow knitters and crocheters and share tips and techniques! Feel free to bring a work in progress. All ages and levels of experience are welcome. There is no charge to attend.

Canning Workshop @ San Luis Library

On Saturday, May 30th, the San Luis Library will host a canning workshop from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Learn to preserve your garden fruits and vegetables by canning, freezing and dehydrating them. There is no charge to attend.

Learn & Play!

Children ages 4 and under are invited to the Main Library on Friday, May 15th, for Learn & Play! Join us in the Children’s Department at 10:30 a.m. for puzzles, sensory toys, and more. There is no charge to attend.

“Hidden Library” @ Foothills Library

Explore the “hidden” side of the Yuma County Library District! On Saturday, May 16th, the Foothills Library will present “Library eResources” at 11:00 a.m. Topics include language-learning software, eBooks and eMagazines, streaming movies, and more! Attendees will have a chance to participate and ask questions. Basic computer skills are required. There is no charge to attend.

Teen Fanfiction @ Foothills Library

Language Lab @ Main Library

Let technology help you learn a new language! On Wednesday, May 13th, 20th, and 27th, the Main Library will host “Language Lab” from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the second floor computer lab. Learn about free online resources you can use to help you master a new language! One session class; basic computer skills are required. There is no charge to attend.

Stargazing @ Foothills Library

Stargazers can enjoy the cosmos at the Foothills Library! The library’s astronomy group will meet at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7th, 14th, and 21st, in the Foothills Library parking lot. Lawn chairs, binoculars, and telescopes welcome!

Telescopes will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the Foothills Library. There is no charge to attend.
