On Tuesday, September 26th, Cocopah Museum Director Kathleen Bartosh will present “Cocopah History and Culture” at 1:00 p.m. at the Main Library. Cocopah artifacts, crafts, and artwork will be displayed. There is no charge to attend.
The Cocopah (Kwapa), also known as the River People, have long lived along the lower Colorado River and delta. For centuries, the Cocopah people, described as generous and non-materialistic, have maintained their traditional and cultural beliefs through the various political environments and ever-changing landscapes. September 2017 marks the tribe’s 100 year anniversary of Federal Recognition.
The Main Library is located at 2951 S 21st Drive. For more information, call (928) 782-1871.
