Sherri Levek, Cataloging Specialist, has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s Employee of the Month for April 2021. This award is to recognize an employee that inspires us with their effort and attitude.
What was said about Sherri:
“Author Stephen King is attributed to writing something to the effect of, “Sooner or later, everything old is new again.” The Main Branch can definitely attest to this notion as we have gained the government document collection from Arizona Western College- that once belonged to the Yuma County Library. Sherri (and Patty) have done such a great job of transferring and updating the information associated with those documents. It must be an interesting feeling seeing handwriting that looks so familiar… With so many items to transfer, the team is doing a great job! I nominate Sherri because not only is she a team player with this document transfer, but she is also thorough in looking into possibly changing the call number on a set of books to better designate its location in the collection. I can think of the time when she had done some research about changing a vegetarian cookbook to vegan cookbook. This improves our collection in that it is more precise and more accessible to the various needs of our community. Sherri also does an excellent job in her collateral duty of keeping library employees informed from the County HR department in regards to our health and insurance needs. She is a great advocate for our organization.”
Sherri received a mounted certificate, a name plate in the book of her choice, an Employee of the Month pin, and her photo will be hung at the Main Library during the month of April. Congratulations Sherri!
