Daniel Hernandez, Library Assistant I, has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s Employee of the Month for January 2019. This award is to recognize an employee that inspires us with their effort and attitude.
What was said about Daniel:
“Daniel has been with the library district for the past eight years dedicating his time here to teen and youth services. His transfer to Foothills from Main has brought enthusiasm and creativity to our team and has been an invaluable help with the production of our annual Harry Potter Reads Day program. Daniel has bravely taken on my story times when I have fallen ill and handled the (at times) 80 plus parents and children of toddler time with ease. His addition of both Dungeons and Dragons and Board Game club to our calendar has attracted considerable attention and have become favorites among the patrons. His work with our astronomy programs, and travel to other branches to assist in presenting star gazing programs as well as participating in the RECON project, more than qualify Daniel for Employee of the Month.”
“He has been with the district for seven or eight years now and has really done a tremendous job in providing programs at the Foothills Branch library. He has done programming such as the board game club, preschool storytime and is a critical help during the annual HP day, which draws in hundreds of patrons. Daniel does special tech assistance in conjunction with the teen services LA, is an enormous help with astronomy programs and I had the privilege of attending one of his Dungeons & Dragons programs, which were tremendously fun and engaging. In large part to the knowledge that Daniel brings to the game. Other customers really respond to his enthusiastic and knowledgeable attitude.”
“He works hard, he is friendly and courteous to all patrons, and is a real inspiration to staff throughout the district. Daniel is always ready and willing to help educate and instruct other staff members as needed. Yuma County is extremely fortunate to have Daniel as part of the Library district – he brings a lot of ingenuity and creativity to his library programs. It is my privilege to nominate Daniel as employee of the month.”
Daniel received a mounted certificate, a name plate in the book of his choice, an Employee of the Month pin, and his photo will be hung at the Foothills Library during the month of January. Congratulations Daniel!
