Erika Bustamante, Library Assistant I Teen/Spanish Outreach, has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s Employee of the Month for June 2018. This award is to recognize an employee that inspires us with their effort and attitude.
What was said about Erika:
“Erika is a very hard worker and always does more than she is expected. She plans her events for patrons and goes above and beyond her duties to make the event perfect for them. Erika really cares about the patrons, always helping them out however she can and she does it not because it’s her job but because she really cares. When she has to go to an outreach she is always excited and is prepared and organized with all of her materials.
To me she has been an excellent co-worker, she takes her time to teach me new things and is very patient. Whenever we need help in our events she is always there asking if she can help out; and since she has experience with events and crafts she always gives us great tips and ideas.
Erika is very fun to work with and uses her knowledge to help others. When she teaches her Spanish and Computer classes I always see her with a big smile on her face and always interacting with the patrons. You can definitely see that Erika is very loved and appreciated here in the Somerton Branch because many people come looking for her; and when she is not here and you step in and try to help them out, they’ll tell you they just stopped by to say hello to her.
So I am very happy to have someone like Erika as a co-worker, someone that patrons really care about, someone I can learn from and specially someone who makes your job fun and enjoyable.”
Erika received a mounted certificate, a name plate in the book of her choice, an Employee of the Month pin, and her photo will be hung at the Somerton Library during the month of June. Congratulations Erika!
