Rosa Agundez, Custodian – Main Library has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s Employee of the Month for May 2020. This award is to recognize an employee that inspires us with their effort and attitude.
What was said about Rosa:
“We are very fortunate to have a hard worker like Rosa at the library. Her service and commitment towards maintaining the library clean, safe, and in good standing order is truly exceptional. Rosa has a very strong work ethic and she has earned the trust, admiration and respect of colleagues with her honesty, sincerity, and commitment towards work. Rosa has been very helpful with several projects that improve the safety of the library such as adding signs to locate fire extinguishers and eyewash stations. In addition, Rosa has also assisted with updating the emergency action plan maps that show the location of the eyewash stations as well as the fire extinguishers in all the library branches. Rosa has also assisted with replacing broken floor plates, broken tiles, and adding hand sanitizer stations throughout the branches. She has also assisted with replacing the power outlet wall plates in Youth Services with childproof wall plates. She keeps the library vans in good running state by taking them to Public Works for their routine maintenance. Rosa also keeps the meeting rooms clean and in good shape. She makes sure the rooms are ready with the requested chairs and tables each morning.
Rosa is flexible and willing to assist with any issues that arise. She is very reliable and we can always count on her to follow through in any project. She is a great team player and is always a pleasure to work with. Rosa is a great mentor and always comes to work with a positive attitude willing to help and train new maintenance staff.
I can see how hard Rosa works and I wanted to let her know that words cannot really capture our gratitude for the work she does, but we all really appreciate everything she does for the library.”
Rosa received a mounted certificate, a name plate in the book of her choice, an Employee of the Month pin, and her photo will be hung at the Main Library during the month of May. Congratulations Rosa!
