Leslie Castro, Library Assistant I – Youth Services, has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s Employee of the Month for October 2021. This award is to recognize an employee that inspires us with their effort and attitude.
What was said about Leslie:
“Leslie has been working actively making connections with our local schools and offering different STEAM programs as well as making Storytime more fun and engaging. She has been working with the Foothills team to bring the Stargazing and Constellation Projector programs to the Somerton Middle School and our local community. Leslie constantly creates engaging and creative displays that encourage both children and parents to get involved in literacy. Additionally, Leslie brings to the branch a vast array of knowledge through her involvement in various webinars and trainings; thus she has definitely become an invaluable asset to the library. She has a plethora of creative ideas that make all her patrons enjoy her programs and are constantly engaged. She has also been a great mentor and provides answers to all of my inquiries with great patience and detail.”
Leslie received a mounted certificate, a name plate in the book of her choice, an Employee of the Month pin, and her photo will be hung at the Somerton Library during the month of October. Congratulations Leslie!
