Martin Alvarado, Library Assistant I, has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s Employee of the Month for September 2018. This award is to recognize an employee that inspires us with their effort and attitude.
What was said about Martin:
“Martin always works hard; he goes out of his way to help out his coworkers when they need assistance. He is constantly working on new origami to be used for library decorations; and goes to near obsessive lengths to make the circulation desk look good for the themes each month. He is a good reference guide when you have a question and he goes out of his way to find an answer.
Martin did an exceptional job in his decorations for some the displays we have in the library. Patrons were delighted with all the wonderful things he worked on and often ask if we have any origami classes available. Every day we see patrons stop at the displays and carefully look at all the details of the pieces he has made. Even though doing origami figures takes time and is detailed work, he continued to finish all of his regular duties effectively and efficiently. In addition, Martin is an excellent team player and always has a positive attitude in everything he does. I believe Martin should be rewarded this month not only for his creativity but also for his hard work.”
Martin received a mounted certificate, a name plate in the book of his choice, an Employee of the Month pin, and his photo will be hung at the Main Library during the month of September. Congratulations Martin!
