Ana Magdaleno, Custodian – Main Library has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s Employee of the Month for June 2020. This award is to recognize an employee that inspires us with their effort and attitude.
What was said about Ana:
“Ana is basically telepathic with the issues in Youth Services. Before I could submit a maintenance request, she had already completed the requested service. She said that she had issues with the sink faucet spraying water in her face and could not imagine how it would be for the kids. She removed the calcium deposits and adjusted the switch that controls the faucet pressure. This has been an ongoing issue in this department. She is also great at finding “spitwads” and cleaning them up. She is an asset to this department.
Her thoroughness is evident the few times she has been out on PTO. When she is gone, the bathrooms are not as sparkly and the tops of shelves will have collected a layer of dust. It is also obvious that she makes sure we have enough cleaning supplies including sprays, wipes, gloves, and towels.
Not only is she thorough in her work, I look forward to seeing her cheerful demeanor each morning! It is great to check in with her and let her tell me of any maintenance trends she sees, such as candy wrappers tucked away in corners. Let’s be honest, the children’s department has a lot of germs. She lugs around the heavy equipment and tells me ‘not to dirty my clothes.’ Ana is the best!”
Ana received a mounted certificate, a name plate in the book of her choice, an Employee of the Month pin, and her photo will be hung at the Main Library during the month of June. Congratulations Ana!
