Enjoy the early days of film at the Heritage Library! On Saturday, October 31st, the library will host “Silent Saturday,” a tribute to silent films. Join us to appreciate the movies from an era when stunt doubles weren’t an option and special effects weren’t done with computers! There is no charge to attend.

Spooky Saturday: Tod Browning’s Freaks (1932)
A circus’ beautiful trapeze artist agrees to marry the leader of side-show performers, but his deformed friends discover she is only marrying him for his inheritance. Why was Universal’s horror-romance Freaks suppressed for thirty years? Come see for yourself whether this once controversial depiction of side-show life exploits the subjects, or not. (Children under 12 will only be admitted with a parent or guardian.)
The Heritage Library is located at 350 S Third Avenue. For more information, call (928) 783-5415.
