“All Together Now” Summer Reading 2023
Here is everything you need to know about this year’s summer reading program for kids and teens.
First, there are two ways to participate:
Option 1 is to register online. Anyone with a smart phone or web access can create individual or family profiles, then, use the app to track reading times for each participant. Finishers will be automatically entered into a drawing for special grand prizes. You can also ask for a paper log at your nearest branch for additional tracking if you like. If you are ages 5-12, don’t forget to claim your “reading friends” cards, tracker and game sheet at your branch.
Option 2 is to register for the program in person. You can do this at your nearest branch by speaking to a Youth or Teen Services staff member. You will receive a program packet containing your paper log, “reading friends,” game sheet, tracker and program information at registration. Then, come back to your branch any time to log your time read and claim any prizes you might be eligible for. Finishers will be automatically entered into a drawing for special grand prizes.
So how do you know if you’re “finished?”
Well, kids ages 0 to 4 need to read 300 minutes (or have an adult read to them), kids ages 5 to 8 need to read for 600 minutes and kids ages 9 to 12 for 900 minutes. In addition, kids ages 5-8 can claim a pack of “reading friends” cards for every 100 minutes read.
Teens need to complete 1080 minutes to claim their prizes. In addition, for every 100 minutes read, teens can help us finish a community art project by adding stickers to the mosaic posters at each branch location.
Remember too, that these numbers are just your main goal for the program. If you keep reading throughout the summer, you will be eligible to claim multiple entries into the grand prize raffles.
SRP 2023 starts May 27th and ends July 15th. Make sure to log all your minutes no later than 9PM on July 15th for them to count towards your totals!
