YCLD is fine free!

As of September 21, 2020, YCLD is fine free!

You no longer have a daily late fine on overdue items.

“We are proud to join many public libraries in eliminating overdue fines,” said Library Director Lisa Mendez. “We hope that eliminating overdue fines will bring patrons back to the library, as they were a barrier to some of our patrons. We want everyone in the community to have full access to the resources that the Library has to offer.”

Thank you to the Yuma County Board of Supervisors for approving this change!

What fine free means for you

If you have overdue fines on your account, they have been removed.

Any fees for lost or damaged items or InterLibrary loan will remain on your account.

Library materials will still have due dates. Items may be renewed twice, as long as there are no holds on them.

You are still responsible for returning your items. We want items back so others can use them! The Library will send you reminders to return your items. The first overdue notice will be sent 2 weeks after the due date. A final notice will be sent 4 weeks after the due date.

If you don’t return billed items, your account may be referred to a collection agency and an additional $10 fee will be added to your account.
