    The Yuma County Library District reserves the right to cancel or limit pick up service.

    Same day pick up is not available.

    You must have a physical library card; curbside pick up is not currently available for eCard holders. Your library card must be in good standing with less than $5 in fees. If you need to pay fees, online payment is available.

  • Teens

    The library offers a variety of print and digital books, audiobooks, movies, and music. Please refer to our Parent's Guide for more information.

    The teen room TVs are only for specific programs and we do not turn them on for patrons to watch TV shows or stream movies. We also don't allow patrons to log into personal streaming accounts on our televisions, though they can do so on the teen room computers, if they have a library card.

    Only hand-held consoles are allowed. We don't allow teens to bring in larger consoles to hook them up to our TVs for game play. 

    Guest passes are not issued to anyone under the age of 18.

    Yes, but due to space limitations, we can't house them in the teen room. They are mixed in with the adult non-fiction collection, but will say "YA" on the spine label. 

    No. While everyone is welcome to browse the teen room, in order to hang out or attend programs you must be between the ages of 13-18. Computers are set to disallow anyone younger from using them as well.

  • Interlibrary Loans

    We can't get the following via Interlibrary Loan:

    • New books (within one year of publication)
    • Any item we own or have on order, including reference books
    • Audio-visual materials: CDs, books on tape, videos, DVDs, or computer software

    Generally, no. If there is a fee, we will ask you first if you want to pay it. If your material is overdue you will be charged $1.00 a day up to a maximum of $15.00. Loss or damage of ILL material is the responsibility of the borrower. Processing and replacement fees are not determined by the YCLD and could be substantial. Please be careful and return ILL materials on time to keep the system working for you. ILL requests not picked up on time may incur a $1.00 fee.

    Books are available for a three week checkout. No renewals are allowed.  Patrons are given 15 days to pick up ILL requests.

    The average length of time needed to receive materials is 10-14 days. However, a request can take up to 4 weeks to receive. Please plan ahead when making a request.

    You may have up to 3 active requests at a time.  Additional requests are filled as requested items are returned.

    Books one year or older and not owned by YCLD.  Periodical articles that are not available in print.

    A YCLD cardholder with an account in good standing, who will be in the area long enough to receive and return the item(s).

  • Media Studio Room

    Patrons who have not arrived within ten minutes of the scheduled start time will be considered no-shows and the reservation will be removed.

    The Editing Room (Arizona Room) is equipped with a ThinkStation P348 Tower Workstation with the software Cakewalk, Audacity, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Audition.  The Editing Room's purpose is to create, mix, and add sound effects to movies, social posts, and podcasts with professional options that include Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition.

    There is a 2-person maximum inside the Arizona Editing Room.

    YCLD is not responsible for nor retains any rights to content that is produced in the Media Studio Room.

    As a shared space, users should be mindful that the booth is not completely soundproof. YCLD reserves the right to terminate sessions that violates the Library’s Code of Conduct.

    No, all data will be erased from the computers between sessions. It is recommended that you bring your own storage media.

    The person that creates the reservation is responsible for the booth, accessories and all of the gear that is used. This person is also responsible for the behavior of their guests and artists.

    The studio is open during normal branch hours and can be reserved in 2-hour increments. The studio closes 30 minutes prior to closing.

    There is a 3-person maximum inside the Media Studio.

    No meeting room fees are charged for the use of the Media Studio or Editing Room.

    The Media Studio Room is intended for individuals who seek to create and edit media projects involving, but not limited to, video, audio, music, podcasting, photography, digitization and illustration. The Media Studio computers are available only for patrons working on digital media projects. All use of the Media Studio Room must comply with the Code of Conduct, Unattended Children, Computer & Internet Use, and all other Yuma County Library District policies. Some Media Studio Policies may be stricter than other published policies that govern use of other library spaces.

    The studio is free to use and is available on a first come, first serve basis. Have a valid YCLD library card. Reservations can be made by calling Yuma Main Branch at 928-782-1871.

    Food or drink is not permitted in the Media Studio or Editing Room. Vaping and smoking are not permitted.

    Media Studio users must be 18 years of age or older and have a current, valid YCLD card to use and reserve studio spaces and equipment. Children 15-17 must have a signed agreement for access to the media studio room. Staff is available for assistance with troubleshooting, program startup, and set up of equipment. Staff cannot assist with artistic consultations, graphic design, recording or editing, or other lengthy requests. The Library is unable to provide one-on-one production or recording assistance.

    An adult must be present with children 14 years of age and younger and have a valid library card.

  • Gaming Computers FAQs

    Also known as electronic sports, esports is a form of competition that is facilitated through computer gaming. Most commonly, esports takes the form of organized, multiplayer online video game competitions.

    The Gaming Lab is a place where people can come together, create with technology, and foster digital skillsets.

    Headphones may be borrowed while the Gaming Lab/computer is being used.

    Yes, however, the Library District cannot guarantee compatibility.

    Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Starcraft II, Overwatch 2, League of Legends, and Discord are available to play by logging in to your personal accounts. Please refrain from playing games with content that violates library computer use policy; pornographic or illegal content is expressly prohibited.

    • Youth 14 and younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times while using the Gaming Lab/computer
    • Youth ages 15-17 may use the Gaming Lab/computer independently with a valid signed agreement from a parent/guardian. Agreement must be signed in person. Agreements are valid for 1 year.

    Yes, a YCLD library card is required in order to use the Gaming computers. Your library card account must be in good standing; account with unresolved fees will be denied access until fees are resolved.

    Each library has book drops inside and outside the building for the return of library materials.

    Visitors can log in using a Guest Pass issued by the service desk. Guest passes are good for 1 hour. Patrons from Yuma County are encouraged to log in using their library cards, as they’ll receive more time on the computer.

  • Technology Help

    When you replace an eCard or lost card library card with a newer library card, it is recommended to either fill out the Contact Us form on our website or call the Main Library Librarian's Desk at (928) 373-6514 to merge your library numbers together. Merging library card numbers is important to maintain your access to Overdrive/Libby and Hoopla. This will prevent you from losing your access to loans and holds currently on your account. If you need to delete your account or change your password in Hoopla, please fill out their Feedback Form as we are unable to do so here at the library.

    All children or young adults up to age 18 can be issued a library card with parent’s or legal guardian’s signature. The parent or legal guardian must present a valid photo ID with current local address.

    Guest passes are not issued to anyone under the age of 18.

    Children under the age of 10 must be supervised at all times by a parent or a caregiver who is 16 years old or older.

    Monthly calendars are available online and can be picked up in person from any branch. Each branch offers different programs, so be sure to check those calendars for what is happening where you live.

    Unlike school libraries, most public libraries don't separate their books by grade level. We use the Dewey Decimal system to arrange non-fiction, and fiction is usually shelved alphabetically by author's last name.
